Fortunately, by the time my wife arrived from the Wynn/Encore meeting rooms, her Chard was warm enough to enjoy. She said that they kept the whites at about 40F, which certainly seemed to be the case here, and around the corner at Jardin too. We then got into a discussion on the serving temp for white wines, and the bartender conjectured that most visitors to Las Vegas have the assumption (incorrect in my mind) that all white wines should be served near freezing – these two glasses were close to that. The bartender looked at me with curiosity in her eyes, and I explained that my wife was joining me, and that if we got her Chardonnay poured now, it would be at a better temp, when she arrived. About the time that arrived (too cold, as per usual), I got a text that my wife’s meeting had gotten out early, and that she would like to join me, so I ordered a second Chardonnay. When the bar was set up, I ordered a glass of the Lioco Sonoma Chardonnay, from the B-T-G wine list.
